The artwork is completely grown out of mycelium (the vegetative part of a fungus or fungus-like bacterial colony, consisting of a mass of branching, thread-like hyphae). Mycelium has immense potential to help us repair the damage we have caused and Save the world. It can help to boost human immunity, cleaning up oil spills, and guarding against outbreaks of disease.

With this artwork, we celebrate life from death, thus the smiley in the centre. A reminder that we need to look out for solutions in nature and be a part of it, work in coherence and learn from it to surpass our individuality, reject the ego and any given dominant order of, say, Western civilisation, such as individual ownership or capitalist logics of growth. Death is part of life.

The material is biodegradable and compostable, which means that it can be safely disposed of and will not contribute to environmental pollution.

Moreover, the mycelium material used in the experiment was found to have a unique texture and appearance, which added to its aesthetic appeal.
